Planetary Annihilation Gameplay Summary:

The fourth match in the Planetary Annihilation Invitational Tournament. Cola_Colin is an excellent player and moderator for the official Planetary Annihilation forums. First time seeing Beuk from Ballistic Logistics play, and he did well.

Some unfortunate bugs with stuck fabricators. Such is the nature of playing a game in Alpha.

Lessons, Tips, and Tricks (spoilers)

When doing your initial scouting, it’s a good idea to scout in a circular direction around your base. This lets you know if your opponent is right next to you and you can act accordingly as strategies vary greatly if you’re next to your opponent or on the other side of the planet.

If you start harassment early and keep it constant, you can keep your opponent reacting, rather than attacking. If you are being constantly being attacked, it’s important that you don’t lose your base, but it’s equally important that you counter attack. If you’re being constantly attacked, it’s likely that your opponent’s backside isn’t guarded, presenting you with quite the opportunity.

If you are the one leading the constant harassment and holding the front lines, attacking the backsides is what will win the match. You can do this easily by setting some factories with varying rally points on the sides, focus on the front lines, when you get a big ball of units, push them in.

It’s always better to fight under the cover of your own turrets. Gives you a large advantage.

Very nice job by Cola_Colin building a ring of turrets and radar around Beuk’s base. This limits Beuk’s expansion and makes attacks very difficult. Tossing in a pelter or two would be very helpful as well.
